Martin County Employers Participate in the Annual Great American Smoke Out
November 20, 2014

On November 20, businesses across Martin County joined together to help support their employees attempts to quit tobacco use for the annual Great American Smoke Out.  Sandhill Cove, Forward Electric, and the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast all provided information on the Three Ways to Quit – a free tobacco cessation program provided by Tobacco Free Florida.  Posters were hung throughout the workplaces, and employees were encouraged to band together and pick a quit date, with support provided by their coworkers and employers.

At the Humane Society, the November staff meeting was dedicated to a presentation on tips for quitting tobacco use, including an overview of their insurance benefits for cessation services and the Three Ways to Quit program.  Several employees made a commitment to attempt to quit and took home resources to share with their family members.
